Over the past day, the Israeli military led by COGAT (Israeli Civil Administration in the Palestinian Territories) helped facilitate the safe evacuation of Gazan newborns from the pediatric ward of Shifa Hospital to receive care essential medical supplies in Egypt.

The coordination of this vital mission was done at the request of Egypt and the director of al-Shifa hospital. The evacuation was carried out by UN teams with the help of IDF teams on the ground. Israeli incubators were provided to Shifa Hospital for the rescue of premature babies.

The Israeli military remains steadfast in its determination to contribute to humanitarian efforts in Gaza and in its commitment to upholding human dignity and providing aid in times of crisis.

Twenty-eight premature babies who remained in Gaza’s al-Shifa hospital after its evacuation on Saturday arrived in Egypt on Monday via the Rafah crossing.

“The 28 infants arrived in Egypt and three other babies continue to receive treatment at the Emirates Hospital” in Rafah, in the south of the Gaza Strip.

A total of 31 premature babies were evacuated from al-Shifa Hospital to the Emirates Hospital in Rafah on Sunday.
