the parents' request approved, the little boy will be buried in Haut-Vernet

This is the decision of the Municipal Council this Saturday, January 18. The request from Emile's parents was approved at the Vernet town hall. And this “with the heart” as indicated by the mayor of the town, François Balique.

It was on the agenda. The request from Colomban and Marie Soleil to bury their son Emile, at the Haut-Vernet cemetery, on Saturday February 8. The mayor, François Balique, spoke almost alone, in absolute silence, on this first point raised in the Municipal Council this Saturday, January 18.

“I looked at the question, burying poor little Emile. This is not a request for a family concession, we have no right to refuse it. From a moral point of view, during the Germanwings, we We did not refuse to bury these passengers even if it was in the neighboring commune, and then, it is an individual concession.”

“A simple tomb”

Even if he reminds us: “We are not obliged to accept, I told the parents to wait, that we had to decide in the Municipal Council.” The mayor then mentions the boundaries: “We know where we are going to position it, it will be a simple tomb.” As if to convince people who already seem convinced.

“I do it with my heart, but only to bury Emile, because otherwise afterwards, we would have to do it for everyone,” he adds. The mayor repeated it several times during this start of the council: “We are not going to turn into a cemetery.”

François Balique, once again addresses his council, and asks if there are people against it, a silence response. The request is accepted unanimously, the mayor affirms: “I will call the parents this evening.”
