From our special correspondent in Schönenwerd
Schönenwerd : 2
Tours : 3
The Tourangeaux were well aware, following this tie-break success at Schönenwerd, that everything was not perfect for their entry into this CEV Cup. But above all, and legitimately given their complicated start to the season, they wanted to savor the simple fact of having followed up with a second success, after that against Narbonne, in the championship on Saturday.
Marcelo Fronckowiak (Tours coach): “The first thing I want to emphasize is the victory. The fact that even in a very delicate situation, which is also the current one, we did not give up, that builds the character of the team. We should never have lost the first set, but we saw ourselves too well: while we had canceled their point, we were lost on our failures. We had to be more rigorous. »
Adriatik Kajtazi (coach of Schönenwerd): “Our team played good Volleyball, but they also showed high level, strategy and respected the commitment we had set for ourselves. Our statistics are good and we know that in these close matches, in this high level of volleyball, an error or a small detail makes all the difference and decides the result. »
Zeljko Coric (TVB captain): “We weren't at our level, but we had the weapons to win and what counts is the victory. As planned, everything will be decided in Tours next week. Every victory is a joy, no matter the situation, the scenario. We must keep this state of mind and go to Tourcoing on Saturday to seek victory. »
Gonzalo Quiroga (TVB receiver-attacker): “It was a very tough, tense match. We perhaps thought that this match would be more comfortable for us but the opposing team played very well. We did not manage to put them in difficulty in reception. Maybe it would have been better to win 3-0, or 3-1 but there is this victory at the end and it is very important. You have to know how to win without playing well. »
