You don’t just become a champion in a gym, but the conditions for doing sport depend on the determination of an entire group. This new season which has started for the Soirées Omnisport Labastide association is still a symbol of philosophy and performance.
To date, more than 80 members form a strong framework to practice the two favorite disciplines offered by the club, volleyball and badminton: “It is an original concept, which allows us to ensure continuity in the practice and exchange of skills in each of these two disciplines”, explains president Serge Alexandrino. Moreover, the club’s general meeting has just taken place, and it further confirms the excellent trend which accompanies the determination of the managers: “All the indicators are green, there is in particular a great enthusiasm for volleyball- ball which seems to benefit from certain positive spin-offs following the holding of the Olympic Games”, analyzes the president. This year, the Labastide-Saint-Pierre club will be able to hire two volleyball teams, a concrete translation of a craze that seems contagious: “What pleases the most are our practice conditions, which allow real accessibility and a certain conviviality during our slots in the gymnasium next to the college”, the managers explain to us after a work meeting.
Take pleasure
Another reason for satisfaction for the club, the practice of badminton, which is an appreciable specificity. Fun and accessible, badminton is the ideal sport for keeping in shape while combining movement and well-being, at any age: “What a pleasure to come and practice and share these warm moments, it’s a great opportunity for all participants “, comments a group of badistas after a session. In a way, SOL athletes are already champions, because they create a bond and they share the same vision: “Our doors are open to all people wishing to try one or other of the disciplines, don’t hesitate to come and meet us”, comments Serge Alexandrino.
