Beaten 3-1 (25-9, 19-25, 29-27, 25-18), the young women of Le Creusot were far from deserving in this meeting which took place at Jean Macé, for the opening of the Pré championship national. They showed resistance and it was quite right that they equalized, to restart the match. Unfortunately, we can consider that the third set, very close, was fatal for them.
Word from the coach: “After a first set where our players were paralyzed, we were able to free ourselves and play our luck to the fullest against a great Sochaux team. The more the match went on, the more the girls gained strength, the receptions were good, the attacks still lacked a little edge. The girls gave everything in defense and recovered as many balls as possible. We had a very good match knowing that there is some news and a change in our passer so lots of automatisms to rebuild. Our only regret will be the 3rd set lost when we led by 7 points, but for a first and with girls so committed, it’s really promising for the rest of the championship!
Word from the captain: “It’s a promising match for the rest of the season. Even if we had a lot of difficulty getting into it in the first set, we were able to show a better level in the following ones. We will have to be more aggressive in attack but I am very happy with the players and the result despite the defeat”
