Pascal Foussard crowned “legend” of Volleyball

Volley-Ball was keen on this, its president François Bruneau in particular. If Pascal Foussard bowed out at the club and Grenon on an evening of defeat in the final of the French championship last April, the TVB saluted its former general director with whom he won all his titles, this Saturday, September 28.

Of course, it was again after a defeat, in this case against (0-3), but that did not take away from the desire to celebrate the man who is also a double Olympic champion. Approved by the Grenon crowd (who had also fervently greeted before the match Doctor Guyomarc’h and Montpellier’s Nicolas Le Goff, also crowned in ), Pascal Foussard found himself surrounded by a few old accomplices.

Former players, like Marc Conré, Philippe Chaffiot, Christian Chadet and Strehlau, former presidents like Jacques Bouyer, Yves Bouget or Patrick Chevallier, but also Dr Clément, the physiotherapist Sébastien Viau, the always faithful Hardy-Dessources, the former journalist from the NR Jean-Éric Zabrodsky, etc.

All come to greet “an exceptional man”, in the words of François Bruneau, who therefore made Pascal Foussard sacred by designating him “TVB legend”. A tarpaulin bearing his image was thus unveiled, before other big names in the club’s history will certainly accompany him in the future.

Pascal Foussard, who has already said and reiterated his visceral attachment to TVB, avoided too much emotion by teasing his former teammates and their fatness. Above all, he promised that he “wouldn’t stay very far away”.

This is good news: a place for life awaits him in the Grenon stands.
