The association Moroccan Investors of the World (IMDM) was created on January 23, 2024. It is based in Thouars, in Deux-Sèvres, and chaired by Airvaudais Rachid Kouifi. It aims to spread throughout the world and already has members in nine countries (, Morocco, Spain, Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands, the United States, Canada and Qatar). “Our mission is to create bridges with expatriates to promote the economic and social development of Morocco and the Moroccan community around the world”summarizes the president.

Beyond promoting the exchange of knowledge and experience, supporting young people and people with disabilities towards employment, or organizing training and encouraging dialogue with citizens, elected officials and economic players, IMDM also wishes to carry out targeted projects.

Renewable energies and permaculture

Example: the signing, in this month of January 2025, of a “strategic partnership” with the Moroccan company Touriver, located near Casablanca and specializing in permaculture and renewable energies. “It was selected among the 25 Moroccan companies joining the green growth and jobs accelerator project, in partnership with the United Nations and the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs”specifies Rachid Kouifi.

Objective of this union: “Develop sustainable agritourism in Morocco and strengthen links between the rural world and the Moroccan diaspora”, based on methods observed abroad, particularly in France and Deux-Sèvres.

“Agritourism is a growing sector that meets the growing expectations of travelers. Promoting agricultural resources and Moroccan rural heritage will boost the rural economy, creating opportunities particularly for young people and women, concludes the president of IMDM. This should also make it possible to support economic models that respect local ecosystems, and therefore reduce migratory pressures thanks to economic development alternatives in Morocco. »
