Between Frantz Granvorka and Volley-Ball, the marriage ended short. The club announced this Thursday, November 28, thathe separated from his general managerin office for a little over four months. A departure “by mutual agreement”which the TVB management justifies by “integration difficulties and a start to the mission marked by injuries which slowed down his momentum.”

“At TVB, we always want to give ourselves time but we never have any” – François Bruneau

“At TVB, we always want to give ourselves time but we never have any. We always put pressure on ourselves for the result ” explains President François Bruneau to Bleu Touraine. ” It turns out that in addition to integrating a new manager, we had a succession of disillusionments between the suspensions of our passer and the injuries of the attackers. It was complicated because it required discussing contracts again with agents, which took up a lot of energy and time. And as a result, we are no longer in the process of preparing and integrating a new manager. We have to be effective right away.”

This amicable separation demonstrates to what extent it is difficult to succeed Pascal Foussardwho handed over last summer, after more than 40 years at TVB. This is recognized by his ephemeral successor. “That’s why he supported us as much as possible, we had weekly interviews to be able to carry out the handover”tells Frantz Granvorka to France Bleu Touraine. While it was agreed that love lasts three years – at least – the bad results got the better of him.

“The club's difficulties at the start of the season have brought a lot of urgency to daily life”

“In the position of manager, there is a whole administrative aspect that had to be discovered”continues the former international. ” So the three-year project was mainly to learn the ropes of this position. But we completely agree that the club's difficulties, at the start of the season, have brought a lot of urgency to daily life. Today, so that the club can continue to grow and move forward as we had planned, we had to make this choice, probably a bit strong. Failure is also where we learn the most.”

The president of TVB announces that the club will continue the season without recruiting a new manager, but by organizing internally. ” Obviously, the president will be called upon a little more but I will rely on the technical staff, the assistant coaches and the head coach who will be able to surround the team a little more closely and permanently. I am also counting on the goodwill of each member of the club who will be able to help us focus on sporting results because that remains the main part of our objective.

Tours Volley-Ball will therefore do without a general manager, this Friday, against Saint-Nazaire, at home. After nine days, the reigning French vice-champion is 10th in the ranking, with only three victories.
