the essential
The girls of Castres-Massaguel Volleyball (CMVB) came together for a unique project: the launch of their first 2025 calendar. The result of an initiative from the athletes themselves, this calendar celebrates their cohesion and their commitment while supporting club life and solidarity causes.
This is a first for the players of Castres Massaguel Volley-Ball (CMVB). Playing in Nationale 2, the Hornets have had an exceptional and “almost ideal” start to the season according to their president, with five victories in five matches. Building on this momentum, they have just launched their 2025 calendar, a unique project which helps strengthen their cohesion and support their club. This calendar, awaited for several years by the CMVB, finally saw the light of day under the impetus of the players themselves, at the initiative of Emeli Schäffer, former regular of this type of project in other clubs ago. about ten years.
“We had experienced something so powerful at that moment that we wanted to keep a memory forever. I wanted us to do this with the Hornets to immortalize our team cohesion. It will remain engraved,” confided the Franco-Brazilian. The calendar aims above all to capture the team spirit of the players and to offer a strong moment to share. The shooting day took place in October, just before the first match of the championship, at the premises of Missègle, a partner of the CMVB.
“Representing the strength of women as athletes”
Diane Picard, another player who took charge of the model and design, clarified the team's intentions: “We wanted to have a link between the hive, the club and to bring out the feminine side in a 'girl power' way, but without falling into an overly sexy or vulgar look, we therefore favored sober outfits to remain faithful to our values. The idea was really to represent the strength of women as athletes. For Laure Salvage, the calendar also serves to finance the life of the club by participating in the purchase of equipment for young people or to cover travel costs. “But we do it mostly for us,” she added.
The project received a warm welcome from CMVB leaders, who see it as a way for the team to appropriate the club's image and strengthen its visibility. Frédéric Cormary, vice-president of the club, shared his enthusiasm: “We, at the office level, found it nice. It’s true that we did a lot for this Hornets team, and to see a project that comes supporting everything we put in place, it’s great!” President Stéphane Cabrol added: “We are trying to serve as a driving force for the club with this team. The fact that they take on this image and want to help us is very satisfying.”
The calendar is on sale during home matches, on the club's website, as well as in Castres at two points of sale: the Kalimera tobacco press in La Capélanié and the Fiesta Fitness gym.
Pink October: the Hornets committed to the fight against cancer
The Hornets also took advantage of the month of October to engage in solidarity action in support of Pink October, a cause dear to Diane Picard. Under his leadership, the players organized a collection during their match against JSA Bordeaux. The profits from the refreshment bar, i.e. €500, were donated to the Oncopole of Toulouse, a gesture of solidarity that the team wishes to renew and intensify in the years to come. “We hope to do better in the following years!” concluded Diane Picard, proud of this initiative which allows the players to get involved beyond the field.
