planted at the last moment, worrying health… Maxime Dereymez reveals the reasons for his departure

There will be not one but two major absentees during season 14 of Dancing with the stars. Last year was marked by the clash between comedian Inès Reg and singer Natasha St-Pier, winner of the show. But his partner, Anthony Colette, will not return from February 7, 2025 on TF1, unlike that of his opponent in the final. Christophe Licata will indeed be back, despite the aggression suffered on the sidelines of the controversy launched by the clash of the two personalities.

The announced casting is attractive. Miss France 2024 Eve Gilles, the host Sophie Davant, the former Star Academy candidate Lénie, the swimmer Florent Manaudou, the actress Charlotte de Turckheim… Presented by Camille Combal, the competition hopes to return to the family atmosphere which made its success. But a key member of the team will not return to the floor: Maxime Dereymez. He reveals the reasons.

Maxime Dereymez absent from Dancing with the Stars 2025

We remember his victory with Shy'm during season 2 of DALS but also his performances with Sofia Essaïdi, Pamela Anderson or more recently the drag queen Keiona. But at 42, Maxime Dereymez will not be present for Dancing with the Stars 2025. The professional dancer, many times French champion in Latin dance and standard dance, participated in no less than 12 seasons of the TF1 show.

In Closerhe confides that he should have been in the casting this year but that everything did not go as planned: “My employment contract was ready. Bad luck, my partner withdrew at the last moment”. However, he refuses to reveal who it is: “Out of respect for her, I will not tell you her identity, but I can tell you that our duo would have been fantastic“.

The dancer worried about his health?

Maxime Dereymez would not have given up his participation in DALS 2025 but the production told him that no other profile matched his. “I don't want to know more”, he adds. But he seems to take it philosophically: “Honestly, it’s a blessing in disguise. I am very tired because my nights are so short with the repetitions of Good News”. He is in fact performing in a show with his company D'pendanse. He even adds: “My loved ones are worried about my health.”.

The cadence of Dancing with the stars is, it is true, very intense. Inès Van Damme confided that she was physically tested last season. It must be said that she also participated in Dancing with the internet stars, launched by Michou in parallel.
