The ending explained by the creator and what it means for season 3

Season 2 of Silo ended with a finale full of surprises, marked by a flashback featuring two new characters. A final episode that lived up to expectations to which the creator reacted, giving indications about the upcoming season 3 of the science fiction series.

After leading a prolific career in cinema, Rebecca Ferguson returned to the small screen with Siloa science fiction series adapted from the eponymous literary saga by Hugh Howey. Faced with its immediate success, the series was quickly renewed for a season 2, the broadcast of which ended on January 17 on Apple +. While Juliette tries by all means to convince the rebels in her silo to stay inside due to the toxicity of the air, she ends up finding herself caught in the flames with Bernard Holland. The episode continues with a flashback taking place in Washington and featuring a woman named Helen questioning a member of Congress about the possibility of the United States retaliating against Iran after a radioactive attack on American soil .

Silo season 2: the creator reveals the meaning of the flashback seen in the final scene

In an interview with the American site The Wrap, showrunner Graham Yost explained how the final scene of season 2 would have a major influence on the plot of the next chapter of Silo. “I'm not going to go into details, but we're going to cover some things regarding the origin story in season 3. You've now met Daniel and Helen, played by Ashley Zuckerman and Jessica Henwick“, he revealed, specifying that he had “discussions with Apple” on how season 2 would end. “At first, some people thought maybe we could end with Juliette surrounded by flames in the airlock. And we said to ourselves: 'No, this isn't the kind of show that ends with a cliffhanger. There has to be an answer and something to be raised (…) We knew people were going to say: 'Oh shit, that's where the Pez came from. What does that mean?' It keeps us moving forward and that's kind of how this show works best because it's a show full of mystery.”

Silo (Apple TV+) : a season 3 focused on the origins of the silos project

A few weeks before the broadcast of the finale of SiloApple TV+ announced that the series was renewed for a third round.
