Beaten 2-0 by OL, the PSG players found themselves on Saturday evening facing the backs and hoods of the angry Parisian ultras, when they came to greet them after the Arkema Premier League match.
Rennes supporters were not the only ones to be unhappy this weekend. At the Parc des Princes too, the PSG ultras did not hesitate to express their anger during the defeat of their women's team against OL (2-0) during the 13th day of the Arkema Premier League. This time, no banner, but ultras… who turn their backs on the players who came to greet them in front of the Auteuil stand.
“I can understand their frustration. It remains the shock of the season, we lose it. What we said to each other remains between them and us. I just thank them for always being there for us and pushing us to every match. They are always behind us”, reacted the Frenchwoman Élisa de Almeida in the mixed zone after the match, while PSG recorded its record attendance (20,489 spectators) for a women's championship match.
Tensions at the club
The team of Fabrice Abriel, who arrived this summer to succeed Jocelyn Prêcheur, is having a complicated season. She was eliminated in the preliminary round in the Champions League and above all seems to no longer be able to keep up with Olympique Lyonnais, after having won only one championship in recent years (in 2021).
-In the first leg, they had already lost on the OL pitch (1-0). To make things a little worse, two of the three goals in the double confrontation were scored by two former Parisian players, Tabitha Chawinga in November and Kadidiatou Diani on Saturday evening.
Third in the French women's championship, eight points behind OL, PSG can certainly still dream of a title at the end of the playoffs, but the gap between the two rival clubs seems too great. To do this, you will have to stay in one of the first four places in the ranking. The bright spot in this gloomy season could be the Coupe de France, since the surprise early elimination of the Lyonnaises.
But unsatisfactory play is not the only source of concern at the club. The coach is not in the odor of sanctity because of his tactical and sporting choices: he removed the armband from Grace Geyoro in favor of Paulina Dudek and refused to summon her on several occasions. Choices that were poorly experienced by the Parisian player and misunderstood by her teammates like Marie-Antoinette Katoto.
