the essential
Under the watchful eye of the police, on their guard, a small delegation of the Lot CGT gathered wisely around the prefect of Lot, Claire Raulin, when the latter pronounced her vows, Friday evening, in the prefecture’s salons in Cahors. Back to this unexpected moment of protest.
A tie printed in red on the t-shirts and that's it. Here is a special CGT evening outfit which contrasted a little, ironically, with the very solemn atmosphere of the speech of the prefect of Lot, Friday in Cahors. The State representative presented her wishes to the political and associative world of Lot.
In short, we could not miss Didier Praneuf, member of the departmental executive commission of the CGT, Isabelle Baudis, member of the same commission, Isabelle Swartz, secretary of the CGT local union of Cahors and David Buffet, CGT union representative at Grand Cahors.
The demands expressed to the prefect
This small, peaceful and not at all disruptive collective wanted to be seen and make their demands heard by Claire Raulin. It's done.
“We represent the Departmental Union of the CGT. We presented our wishes to the prefect, while asking her to work with the State to obtain an increase in salaries and pensions, a moratorium against layoffs, the retirement at 60, the 32-hour week and the end of the breakdown of public services We did not want to disturb her during her speech. She took note that we were supporting the demands of the CGT. there democracy that has expressed itself.”

Wishes in the eyes: the combative and fraternal speech of the prefect of Lot who focuses on “the strength of the collective”
At the end of the ceremony, the Lot representatives of the CGT distributed leaflets on which everyone could read that they hope that “this new year will be one of social reconquests” and that they want to “be the artisans of peace.”
The CGT played this protest role in a highly symbolic place, at the start of a year which promises to be a year of social struggles “for purchasing power and better consideration of the vital needs of the weakest.” The tone for the start of 2025 is clearly set.
