“I have to tell the viewers…”: Léa Salamé on the absence of Christophe Dechavanne in Quelle Époque! (ZAPTV)

This Saturday, January 11, What a Time! once again captivated 2 viewers. If the guests were there as always, a notable absence did not fail to provoke a reaction: that of Christophe Dechavanne, generally present alongside Léa Salamé.

Like every Saturday evening, Léa Salamé takes the helm of the show What an era!, key event of the weekend on France 2. With her dynamic style and hard-hitting questions, each week she welcomes a range of guests ranging from political figures to show business figures. And to spice up the debates, the host can count on the presence of Christophe Dechavanne. The former presenter of The Wheel of Fortune brings a touch of sharp wit and does not hesitate to take on the role of sniper. Their duo? A winning combination which, according to Léa Salamé, works wonderfully. But this Saturday, January 11, no pair in sight… For good reason, the host was absent.

Christophe Dechavanne absent from Quelle Époque!, Léa Salamé gives the reasons

From the start of the show, Léa Salamé was quick to lift the veil on this absence which could have caused a lot of ink to be spilled. “What I have to tell the viewers is that Christophe is not here tonight”she declared to a visibly disappointed audience. A disappointment that the host visibly shared since she summed up with a touch of humor: “That’s what I said.”

Paul de Saint Sernin, another columnist for the show, then allowed himself a joke: “He is at the funeral of Jean-Marie Le Pen.” Enough to bring a smile to Léa Salamé who continued by admitting, this time seriously: He has a complete loss of voice. I don’t know if it’s the flu virus, but there’s nothing coming out of his voice.” Raphaël Glucksmann’s companion nevertheless wanted to be reassuring: “I kiss him, we all kiss him. We wish him a speedy recovery and we expect him here next week. I kiss him very much.” Fans are already looking forward to his return next week.
