The end of the year on Netflix was notably marked by the release of season 6 of the romantic series Virgin River. A new salvo, much more daring than the previous ones, which required the actors to step out of their comfort zone by filming more intimate scenes. This is particularly the case of Martin Henderson, who even had to take part in the striptease exercise in front of Alexandra Breckenridge. And for good reason, the two actors were at the center of this season since it was mainly devoted to the marriage of Mel and Jack. An event which proved particularly difficult to film due to the weather conditions. But now, this stage past, Alexandra Breckenridge lets herself dream of the end of Virgin River.

This sixth salvo was not easy for poor Mel. After discovering the identity of her real father, Everett, at the end of season 5, she spends these new episodes trying to create a bond with him. A task which proves to be difficult as the latter has withdrawn into himself. Questioned by the American media Deadline about this plot, her interpreter analyzed: “She really develops a relationship with him throughout this season, and I think they end up having a very sweet connection by the end of the season, and I hope that translates into more for them in the next season . The situation between Everett and Doc was so complicated, and now it seems to have been resolved. So I hope Mel ends up getting the giant family she wants. And that would be the end of the series, you’ll see them all on the farm, and Mel will look back wistfully, and she’ll be like “I got her.” A tear runs down her cheek.”

After Mel’s miscarriage and now that the couple is legally married, it’s a safe bet that season 7 will once again deal with Mel and Jack’s desire for parenthood. An opportunity that presents itself in the finale of season 6 when Marley suggests to Mel that she adopt the baby she was carrying for another couple. While nothing has been confirmed, the couple was heading toward adoption anyway and might just jump at the chance to start their family. A plot that we should see in season 7 of Virgin River, already ordered by Netflix.
