Vigil : Should you watch season 2 of the series with Suranne Jones and Rose Leslie (Game of Thrones) broadcast from this Thursday, January 9, 2025 on Arte? Our opinion

The first season was remarkable for the precision of its writing, the tension which increased without the viewer feeling the trap closing on them, its unique atmosphere, the quality of its performers, the staging which was both demanding and captivating. …among others! Is this long-awaited sequel up to par? Unfortunately, no. This does not mean that it is a failure, far from it, but it is undeniable that the writing is less well maintained, the atmosphere more classic and the tension lower. What remains is a plot that follows one another without displeasure, a subject that does not fail to raise intriguing questions and two actresses whose performance is as sharp as ever. Too bad, then.
