Filming for this season, which took place in April 2024, took place on the Thai island of Ko Tarutao, located off the coast of Malaysia. A thrill-seeker, he changes hats to provide advice and help the candidates survive. “I've had lots of different offers but what I liked about 'The Island' is that it's a very purist format, which made me want to discover the adventure of being a presenter because it's is a real job“, he confided during the press conference which took place at the beginning of December. “The new format is a huge game-changer, with homelessness approaching survival in a different way.” explains the explorer who adds: “We don't really realize it, but already surviving on a beach is very difficult. So homelessness without having eaten, without being able to hydrate properly, is extremely hard.”

What was his role in the adventure? “I really tried to explain as best I could to the castaways how to survive in an environment like that. It wasn't easy, being a teacher really isn't what I'm best at in general.“, smiled the adventurer. “I may have been a little harsh but survival is not easy and it requires very specific preparation that should not be taken lightly.“, confides the man who trained the 10 candidates for this new edition for 48 hours before filming.

The cast of this 5th season is eclectic.
