CANAL+: increases expected at the start of next year

Services and channels will disappear at the beginning of next year from CANAL+ but this is not the only bad news since the subscription will also increase.

Several CANAL+ subscribers have received an email in recent days informing them of a future price increase, a situation which is not so unprecedented but which will certainly be difficult for those concerned.

Two euros for everyone

Indeed, in addition to the shutdown of several Disney and Disney+ channels and the shutdown of PassPresse, subscribers will have to pay two euros more per month outside of any promotional period.

If the promotional period has ended for you, you will therefore be subject to the new rate which is your current rate increased by two euros. According to Anael_tw on X who analyzed several cases, the increase will be the same for everyone.

Although in the sights of the tax authorities regarding the VAT rate of its channels, this increase would therefore not be due to a change at this level, unless CANAL+ decides to take part of it in charge for the highest subscriptions.

Changes from January 14

Note that the price increase is scheduled for January 14, affected customers who have a subscription that renews before this date will not see the increase before next February. You can also check upcoming payments directly in your subscriber area.

In addition, some subscribers will see the price of their offer decrease. Disney+ was billed 2 euros per month in certain promotional offers, the platform disappearing, these two euros per month are therefore subtracted from the final bill. If you pay 15 euros per month, your bill will end up at 13 euros per month, enough to partially finance the Disney+ subscription with advertising.
