“The same build as me”: hesitation in Quotidien, Yann Barthès’ remark falls through

Like every week, Yann Barthès and his columnists review political, social and cultural news in the show Daily on TF1. This Friday, December 13, journalists Paul Gasnier and Juliette Pelerin took an interest in French rugby community which recently made the headlines.

As a reminder, Hugo Auradou and Oscar Jégou were the subject ofone indicted for rape after playing a match in Argentina this summer. The verdict finally came last Tuesday: the Argentine courts dismissed the case. The columnists’ report last night focused more particularly on “the third half”during which players are used to partying.

Back on set after the broadcast of a subject on the new anti-drift charter put in place in the world of rugby in , Yann Barthès launched a little remark to his guest Riad Satouff. “I see you have the same build as me. Do you play rugby a little?”asked the host.

This outing did not have the desired effect. What followed
a short moment of floating. The comic book author immediately spoke again and answered the question as if nothing had happened: “It doesn’t seem to be only in rugby that this tradition of alcohol in sport…”

An atmosphere of unease briefly blew up on the set of Quotidien the day before. December 12Vincent Dedienne was the guest of Yann Barthès. The man in charge of the show first introduced him before he entered the set as “someone never responding to texts.”

After the distribution of an archive, a show of two friends titled Pajama partythe 37-year-old comedian revealed that he wanted repeat the experience in the company of his comrade. The latter, a little embarrassed, replied:
“Well, whenever you want”. LED the discussion continues as if the cameras did not existAmbre Chalumeau called them to order:
“Is it that Do you want us to leave you?“. The program immediately resumed at full speed.
