Antoine de Maximy gives his opinion on Cyril Hanouna and the closure of C8: “He still goes quite far…”

The end is approaching for C8. On July 24, the Regulatory Authority for Audiovisual and Digital Communication (Arcom) took the decision not to renew the DTT frequencies of C8 (just like those of NRJ12 and of And the Mediaeditor’s note). The group channel Canal+ was sanctioned for its numerous debts and fines, amounting to 7.6 million euros over eight years. Therefore, C8 will cease broadcasting on February 28, 2025.

Antoine de Maximy stunned Cyril Hanouna

A tiny hope remains for C8, which had urgently referred this matter to the Council of State. “C8 firmly opposes Arcom's decision (…) and has appealed to the Council of State for summary proceedings. Such a decision by Arcom is unprecedented in the history of TNT, since its creation in 2005“, wrote the channel in a press release. The Council of State rejected this first request, considering that the emergency condition was not “not fulfilled“. On November 22, the highest French administrative court ruled “inadmissible“the action brought by the Canal+ group channel, justifying this by the fact that the request was”premature” because filed before the finalization of the procedure by Arcom. The Council of State had thus specified that the channels had to wait for the final list from Arcom to send their challenges.

Guest of Buzz this Thursday, November 28, Antoine de Maximy was questioned about the case C8. The face of I will sleep at your house first wanted to share that he had a certain admiration for Cyril Hanouna, even if he “doesn’t watch TV”: “Cyril Hanouna, he can do everything. But apparently he can't do everything… He invited me twice, it went very well. Me, I am consensual, no one attacks me, it goes very well. I remember that he once did 24 hours live! There are some things that are quite inflated.

Antoine de Maximy discusses the closure of C8

But it's true that he sometimes crossed the line“, Antoine de Maximy then admits. “It's very strange, because today, we're going to piss you off because you said the wrong word and he still goes quite far. I don't know what to think about the current situation, what we can say, what we can't say. I don't like being stopped from saying things!
