Life will perhaps be better elsewhere for Tim Rousseau. The 21-year-old actor joined the Marseille soap opera at the start of the 2021 school year to play Kilian Corcel, one of the three sons of the late Roland Marci, aka Michel Cordes. He therefore experienced the original fiction, the one broadcast on France 3, then the new version broadcast on TF1 since January 8, 2024. But the good audience scores for this reboot were not enough to retain the Guadeloupean who announced to “Diverto” his wish to sail towards other horizons. “I made this decision because I need to go away. I need to take risks: I’m at an age where I don’t want to lock myself into something, I need to go through other things, professionally speaking. I’m tired of living through Kilian on screen…“, he justified himself to our colleagues.
Ready for “a big leap into the void”
However, Tim Rousseau does not rule out the idea of a return, the time of a story arc, as he clarified in this interview. “I say goodbye to him, not goodbye. He will stay glued to me until the end: I will have a bit of Kilian and he will have a bit of Tim, until the end.” entrusts the one who is about to carry out “a big leap into the void”. His risk-taking is nevertheless calculated because the actor is currently filming in the series “Le fil d’Ariane”, alongside Florent Peyre and Chantal Ladesou, and is teeming with projects, notably as producer/director. His future departure, planned for early 2025, nevertheless saddens his partner Laurent Kérusoré, who plays his half-brother on screen. “In this industry, he’s the person who gave me the most love and it’s because we have this alchemy off set that there is this connection to the image. It would be a lie to say that he’s not sad… It pisses him off to know that the little guy he’s been working with for four and a half years is leaving.” acknowledged Tim Rousseau.
A regretful but understood departure
On the production side, we also blame the blow, as the character of Kilian Corcel was appreciated by the faithful of “Plus belle la vie”. “Tim arrived when he was very young, he was 16, it’s normal that he could have other desires, he needs to try other characters, to have other horizons. We are sad, because he is a pillar of the series and, at the same time, we respect his choice. I can understand his motivations as an actor”, says Clémentine Planchon, manager at Newen Studios.
