“I don’t want to lock myself into something”

Goodbye Kilian. As announced exclusively by I have funTim Rousseau leaves the series More beautiful life, even more beautifulthis Wednesday, November 27, after its last day of filming. He talks to us about the reasons that made him want to leave and what he hopes for the rest of his career.

You leave More beautiful life, even more beautiful. Why did you make this decision?

I made this decision because I need to get away. I need to take risks: I'm at an age where I don't want to lock myself into something, I need to go through other things, professionally speaking. I'm tired of living through Kilian on screen…

You have played Kilian since 2020. How do you feel about saying goodbye to this character?

Exactly, I say goodbye to him, not goodbye. He will stay glued to me until the end: I will have a little Kilian and he will have a little Tim, until the end. And I think that little Kilian would be very proud to see what he has become and what I am about to do: a big leap into the void.

What did you like about Kilian?

His ambivalence between his very sunny, kind, childish side… And, in reality, someone who can be extremely touched and extremely touching. He went through narrative arcs that were almost burlesque at times, very funny, and other times as dramatic as possible. Every time, he is there, every time, he tries to keep a smile.

Which storyline was the most striking to you?

It is the death and burial of Roland, Kilian's father. This is the plot that provoked the most things in me, internally, where fiction and reality sometimes even got a little confused, a little mixed. It's not a very good thing, because it's a job to be an actor, you have to differentiate between fiction and reality. One of the two must not encroach too much on the other… But I must have been 19 years old, I had forged extraordinary bonds with Michel Cordes so, when we had to make him leave in the series, it made me It was extremely strange…

If there is one character who will be sad about Kilian's departure, it's Thomas… How did Laurent Kérusoré, who plays him, experience your desire to leave?

With Laurent Kérusoré, it's a great love story, with a gigantic A. For me, in this environment, he's the person who gave me the most love and it's because we have this alchemy off set that there is this connection to the image. It would be a lie to say that he's not sad… It's making him sad to know that the little guy he's been working with for four and a half years is leaving.

It is said that More beautiful life is a big family. How do you feel about leaving her?

It's crazy… I don't really know. It's both the most extraordinary family I've ever had and, at the same time, one from which I need to free myself for a little while, to find myself. This family side, almost a summer camp in itself, is the greatest strength of More beautiful life and that's what played the most tricks on me. When you're 17, and you say you're hot and then, in the next minute, there's someone coming next to you to blow your mind, you quickly become big-headed. . I don't want to be that kind of actor, to arrive on set, shout, be completely unruly…

Can we hope to see you come back for an arc, as some old ones have done?

Yes, it's likely, even if that's not necessarily the goal. Maybe I'll come back, once I've finished what I have to do.

What exactly are your plans with this departure?

I'm filming in the series Breadcrumbsalongside Florent Peyre and Chantal Ladesou. I also have personal projects, such as training to be a theater speaker and focusing on my production company. I would like to direct and I am in a phase where I would like to professionalize myself in this field: I want to make small films, things close to what humanity is, really, in its flaws. There is a short film that is about to be released, in which there is Laurent Kérusoré and you have never seen him in this aspect! He plays a psycho-rigid and very disturbed VTC driver, who goes to pick up a woman in the evening and who will completely screw up on the journey, it will be horrible. It was a real pleasure to film with him, because he is an exceptional actor.

What would you like to say to fans of More beautiful life, even more beautifulwho will also say goodbye to you?

They are not our fans, they are members of the big family More beautiful life. Tell them that Kilian loved being looked at by them and, even in the street, in restaurants, in bars, even in nightclubs, when we meet, each time you are all wonderful people. You have always been extremely kind to me, and when I pass you in the street, I feel like I am your godson!
