New episodes of the series “Wish” arrive on Canal+ Antilles

Since Wednesday November 20, Wish is broadcast on Canal+ Antillesafter a preview presentation of the two pilot episodes at the cinema in and Guadeloupe.

A family and musical history

Director Julien Dalleof Guadeloupean origin, recounted the genesis of this 100% West Indian series.

I have always had a certain relationship with the public in Guadeloupe and Martinique, with my three films, Les Konxs, Retour au pays and especially Secret de famille, which remained for seven weeks in Madiana with more than 10,000 admissions. So, I wanted to come back and see this audience and I had the idea of creating Wish. I met all my childhood idols there, singers, and they were the ones who suggested this idea for a series on the music industry.

The heart of the series is a family plot carried by deep characters and played by artists who embody their own roles.

It’s a family story, but it has the particularity of having artists who play under their own name. It’s a series which tells the story of the decrepitude of this young girl immersed in family problems, problems with her artists, and who must do everything to save her father’s studio from bankruptcy.

Julien Dalle sees in Wish a natural continuity with his first three feature films, where he explores different family stories and identity struggles.

An ambitious cultural project

With this series, the director also hopes highlight local artistic talents while celebrating the Caribbean music industry.

The first two episodes were enthusiastically received by the public during previews in Guadeloupe and Martinique. There broadcast of episodes 3 and 4, this evening at 8 p.m. on Canal+ Antillesmarks an important step in the expansion of this cultural adventure.

Julien Dalle spoke in more detail about this cultural adventure, his inspirations and the next seasons of the series in an interview with Erika Govindoorazoo during the 1 p.m..
