Arcane: these 3 series planned after the end of the series

After three years of waiting, season 2 ofArcane finally overturned everything in its path. The animated series from the Fortiche studio thus offered fans a finale worthy of the name, between tragic farewells and epic battle. Unfortunately, the hope of a season 3 was swept away several months ago, leaving us orphaned by one of the best Netflix series. But it seems that the universe of League of Legends has not yet said its last word, on the small screen.

New regions to explore

Christian Linke, the co-creator ofArcanewarned us in June 2024: the series is only the beginning of our narrative journey into the regions of League of Legends. To Collider, he affirmed that the Netflix production “has always been considered a first step” in this universe. It must be said that more than 160 playable champions are available in the video game: enough to fuel several derivative series. Christian Linke also hopes to be able to explore new genres on this occasion, such as horror, as he told Polygon.

During a long interview given to videographer Necrit, specialist in LoLand published on November 24, 2024, the showrunner also gave more details on the Fortiche studio's plans in the future. After recounting the shocking destiny of the two sisters Vi and Jinx, between Piltover and Zaun, the creators ofArcane would like to explore three regions well known to fans of League of Legends : Noxus, Ionia, and Demacia.

Noxus, the merciless empire

If you have followed the journey of Mel and her implacable mother, Ambessa, in the Netflix series, you must have already heard this word since it is their region of origin. In the lore of League of LegendsNoxus is described as a “powerful empire with a terrifying reputation”but also as a “brutal, expansionist and aggressive country”like Ambessa's cruel behavior. Iconic video game champions like Leblanc, the leader of the Black Rose organization, come from the Noxus region.

Note thatArcane disseminated small clues, throughout its two seasons, concerning the integration of this region into its serial universe. In the last images of season 2, we see a 6-eyed raven, linked to the demon Raum. He will end up allying himself with Swain, a strong character League of Legendsknown to be the leader of Noxus. A detail that could lead us directly to a dedicated series, therefore.

Ionia, the magical kingdom

The province of Ionia, for its part, is an immense archipelago surrounded by more or less clement seas. These lands are renowned for one characteristic in particular: the fine line between the real world and magic, particularly in the mountains and forests.

But twelve years ago, Noxus attacked this fairyland, ravaging Ionia. Since then, a fragile peace has reigned in these places and revenge is on everyone's lips. Playable champions well-known to fans, like Ahri or Irelia, live around Ionia.

Demacia, the military region

Finally, the world of Demacia is known for being founded on strict principles, with a rich military past. Three key words reign there: justice, honor and duty. But the kingdom's golden age may well be over, and many of its inhabitants are betting on its decline, after following isolationist policies for years.

A troubled universe, therefore, which could give rise to fascinating questions about the practice of power and its excesses, in one of the future projects of the Fortiche studio. Galio or Fiora, playable champions of Demacia, could then be entitled to their own story for example.

When is the release date for the sequel?Arcanealways located in the universe of LoL ?

According to Christian Linke, development of one of these new spin-off series began last year. But considering the production deadlines of the Fortiche studio, which worked for three years on season 2 ofArcaneit will probably be necessary wait until 2026, at the earliestto be able to discover these projects in collaboration with Riot Games.
