Season 2 ofArcane concluded with the last three episodes of the series based on the video game League of Legendsbut one question remains: what is the fate reserved for Jinx?
The explosive Zaunian formerly known as Powder is a central element ofArcane from the very beginning, especially for his relationship with his sister Vi and all the consequences it entails. After the dramatic events of season 1, the two siblings followed very different paths, and viewers eagerly awaited their reunion.
Except that the season 2 finale released on Netflix precipitated the fall of the blue-haired champion, who followed a redemption arc throughout the final episodes. Was she able to survive the final sequences, or should we consider her lost for good? We explain the theories on Jinx's fate to you at the end ofArcane.

Did Jinx die at the end of Arcane?
Everything indicates that Jinx is dead in the season 2 finale ofArcanewith a few details: a solid theory suggests that the champion could have survived, not without having previously redeemed herself by sacrificing herself to save Vi.
The champion was indeed at the heart of Zaun's rebellion against Piltover, somewhat in spite of herself, while she mourned the death of her second adoptive father Silco. But the arrival of Isha in her daily life changed a lot of things, and in a way helped reconcile her with Vi.
In episode 9 of season 2 ofArcaneJinx saves Vi who is attacked by Vander aka Warwick, and drags her into the depths of the destroyed Hexgate, before triggering one of her explosive gadgets. Subtle details, however, suggest that the girl may have survived.
A hidden detail sows doubt about Jinx's death
The last scenes of season 2 ofArcane leave doubt as to Jinx's death: she could have escaped through an air vent before the explosion thanks to her speed due to the Shimmer, thus surviving her fall with Vander.
Above all, we must remember the famous rule of “not seen, not dead” specific to series, which means that a character can still return as long as his death has not been explicitly shown on screen. However, Jinx just disappears in a cloud of colored smoke caused by the explosion of her bomb.
We can then see Caitlyn busy analyzing the plans of the Hexgate, and discovers that there are air ducts in its base. The peacemaker then takes a look at one of the figurines that belonged to Jinx, and smiles.
Finally, a final clue to Jinx's survival can be found in the airships of the end planArcane. A plan that could be directly linked to another from the first season, when Powder claimed that she would one day climb into one of these machines. To top it all off, the airship plan from season 2 is followed by a “fine” card written in the style of Jinx.
As an Internet user points out on a Reddit thread repeating the theory, we can also count on the champion's terrifying speed since Singed snatched her from death by injecting her with a heavy dose of Shimmer : “During the explosion, a shimmer light appeared and disappeared, so she probably escaped thanks to her super speed. And Jinx probably took Silco's advice and set sail aboard the airship she mentioned in Season 1.“
Will Jinx return in a future series?
It is possible that Jinx will return in another series adapting the universe of League of Legends.
Arcane will not have season 3, but three other regions are already planned for the next series in development, which should certainly extend the intrigues of certain charactersincluding Mel Medarda. However, if Jinx was a crucial element of the first series, she will probably not have as important a role in the rest of the projects from Riot Games and Fortiche.
The creators of the series have made it clear thatArcane was considered a completed story, despite the leads launched in the finale for other spin-off series within the LoL universe – including the tease around Swain, a Noxian general likely to become an important character for a future series.
