Since the launch of Here it all begins in November 2020, certain narrative arcs have stood out. A look back at the best intrigues of the TF1 soap opera.
Here it all begins is already 4 years old! On November 2, 2020, TF1 kicked offHere it all beginsa daily soap opera centered on the lives of teachers and students at the Institut Auguste Armand, a prestigious French gastronomy school.
Since then, Teyssier (Benjamin Baroche), Clotilde (Elsa Lunghini) and all the others have lived more than 1000 lives! Between cooking classes and services at Double A, the tenants of the Institut Auguste Armand faced many challenges. And some have had a much greater impact on us than others!
Sugar Daddy – Hortense in another light
In March 2021, after only four months on the air, Here it all begins hit hard with an ark full of surprises: Sugar Daddy. Faced with financial problems, Hortense (Catherine Davdyzenka) accepts help from Hugues Leroy (Yann Sundberg), the Institute's accountant. Their relationship seems innocent, but Hugues' behavior increasingly embarrasses Hortense, who begins to doubt his intentions…
Very surprising, Sugar Daddy is undoubtedly one of the best early arches ofHere it all begins. Full of twists and turns and mystery, it keeps you in suspense from start to finish while showing a unexplored facet of Hortense's character. “If we kept our frankness and naivety on this arch, it would have just looked like a pitcher and that was not the idea at all. We wanted to install it in something else, to show that there has many facets to our characters and that they are not locked into one register”, had, at the time, explained producer Sarah Farahmand to 20 minutes. A success in every way which allowed Catherine Davydzenka to definitively establish herself as the flagship character of the series.
Botox addict – When Here it all begins raise awareness
Still in 2021, this time at the end of the year, the TF1 soap opera captivated viewers with another thrilling arc: Botox addict. At the Institute, Charlène (Pola Petrenko) discovers that Laëtitia (Florence Coste) makes ends meet with a not very legal activity: botox injections. Herself a victim of dysmorphophobia, the young Teyssier asks Laëtitia to take care of her. But soon, Charlène asks for more until she can no longer stop…
Carried by a convincing Pola Petrenko, Botox addict is all the more qualitative as it addresses strong and essential themes. Lack of self-esteem, fear of the gaze of others and addiction to aesthetic medicine are addressed with simplicity but seriousnessshowing thatHere it all begins is not only entertainment, but also a platform to raise awareness of certain social problems (mental health, addiction, etc.). We validate!
Boys don’t cry – Here it all begins makes its characters its strength
The third arch that we loved watching takes us to November 2022. In Boys don’t cry, three students from the Lille cooking school arrive at the Institute after a violent explosion in their school. Among them Elodie (Sarah-Cheyenne Santoni), a former student at Auguste Armand, but also her boyfriend Brice (Jean-Védas Mata Nzadi) and Jude (Galaad Quenouillère), a talented but very discreet young man. Things naturally flow between Jude and Eliott (Nicolas Anselmo), which makes Greg (Mikaël Mittelstadt) very jealous. But Eliott can't help it, he feels the need to be close to Jude, who seems very bad about himself…
As Botox addictthe ark Boys don’t cry addresses several hot social issues, including school bullying and homophobia. Once again, Here it all begins does things very well, relying on the fair and poignant performance of a new element – Gilead Distaff – to denounce what needs to be denounced. In parallel, we appreciate finding Greg and Eliott at the heart of the plot, they who have been – and always will be – one of our favorite couples in the series. When there's Greliott around, you can't help but love it!
The truth about Auguste Armand – Successful return to basics
Heading towards 2023! In July and August, TF1 broadcast its third saga of the summer: The truth about Auguste Armand. In this arch, Axel (Thomas Da Costa) meets Aurélien Armand (Eric Savin), who tells him that he is the heir to the last restaurant of his brother Auguste (Francis Huster). Axel trusts him, but the appearance of Aurélien in his life upsets the balance of the Armands, to the point of causing the revelation of a heavy and dark secret well buried…
After the arches Legacy et Louis' drift, The truth about Auguste Armand puts the Armand family at the heart of the plot. The series thus refocuses on its fundamentalshighlighting the characters we love the most (Clotilde, Louis, etc.) to finally answer the question we've been asking ourselves since the launch of the series: was Auguste assassinated or not? An arch as thrilling as it is exciting that we will not forget!
Clash – Anaïs without the slightest false note
Finally, how can we talk about our favorite storylines without mentioning the one we're watching at the moment? Launched on November 11, Clash stars the character of Anaïs (Julie Sassoust). Prey to doubts about the rest of her career, the young chef Grimbert decides to start developing a new event menu. If she fails, she will leave her position at Double A. But as she embarks on this challenge, Anaïs discovers that she has an illness that could cause her to lose her hearing. A shock for the young chef, who may well have to say goodbye to her career…
Captivating, Clash is an arc so rich in twists and turns that each cliffhanger makes one cringe. Only watching one episode a day is real torture We are so worried about Anaïs's fate! It must be said that Julie Sassoust does not strike the slightest false note. In the casting since the very first episode of the series, the 29-year-old actress proves that she still has something under the hood by revealing all of Anaïs' vulnerabilities and strengths, sometimes in a single scene. And the presence of the new recruit of the series, Gabriel Réhsé, does not spoil anything, since the couple he forms with Sassoust on screen has already become our favorite! Like what, Here it all begins still has some great things to offer.
