Maïa's reaction upon learning of her nomination challenged Michael Goldman. The director asked for explanations from the candidate in the daily newspaper of the Star Academy this Thursday, November 21 on TF1.
During the last evaluations of the Star Academy – in the presence of former emblematic teachers of the show – Maïa was not unanimous. After his performance on The world is stoned by Fabienne Thibeault, the candidate was harshly judged by the faculty. “I was not at all convinced by Maïa’s performance […] There, for me, there is a tone problem, it didn't resonate with me at all.” commented Marlène Schaff. If Armande Altaï had “chills” hearing the voice of the academician, Sofia Morgavi was “embarrassed”just like Oscar Sisto: “It's a song that says: 'I don't want to fight anymore'and in the end it looked like she was going to take the Bastille so there is nonsense.” Comments which directly sent Maïa to the nomination box.
Michael Goldman (Star Academy) stunned by Maïa's reaction to the announcement of her appointment
In the daily life of Star Academy broadcast this Thursday, November 21 on TF1, Michael Goldman announced the nominees for alumni week. “The third name is… Maïa”he revealed to the students. “Yeah, okay…”, Maïa commented with a yellow laugh, attracting the attention of the director who demanded explanations following her reaction. “I don’t know, I felt it”she said before receiving Michael Goldman's opinion: “Oh yeah? So listen, honestly, vocally I don't have anything to say. Because on the other hand, you decided to fully assume the broken voice, the fact is that it made the performance a little monotonous. “
Maia (Star Academy) plays down after his new appointment
Once again in danger, Maïa decided to put things into perspective after learning of her appointment. “Since the beginning of the adventure, I didn’t think I’d get this far, so in reality, I’m already really happy to have gotten this far”she confided to her comrades. “Whether I leave or not, I sang the way I wanted to sing. If there's one thing I'm going to miss if I leave, it's you.”she added before looking forward to singing for the first time “alone” on the prime. To defend herself on the prime of Saturday November 23, Maïa will perform the song I see red by Everybody Loves An Outlaw. She will also share a duet with Marguerite on A few words of love by Michel Berger.
