“During my studies in Louvain-la-Neuve, I found myself sharing a room with Véronique and Valentine in a musical project roomremembers Oriane. We loved singing together, and we quickly noticed that our three voices blended very well. After our studies, we decided to create a group around our favorite instrument: the voice.. It was only later that the group wanted to add male vocals, which led to the audition of Big Ben and Philippe. Together, they devote themselves entirely to a cappella music.
An unexpected outcome
A few years ago, the group had already been approached by the show’s casting company. “We refused because we first wanted to develop our musical projectexplains Valentine. This year, when the production asked us once again, we accepted because we know that this type of show can offer great visibility.”
For Philippe, the important thing was above all to share their music, without any particular expectations. However, the reality turned out to be even more beautiful. Oriane remembers it perfectly: “We really experienced the golden buzzer as an explosion of joy and emotion all together.” Big Ben also remembers this magical moment: “I saw that Marianne James and Hélène Ségara had started to have tears in their eyes. At that moment, I said to myself that there was a chance that we could get the golden buzzer, even if initially, none of us had considered it.”
And what’s next?
Now, the group is working on preparing for the semi-finals, which will be filmed this Friday. Although they can’t reveal their song selection yet, Philippe gives us a behind-the-scenes look at this choice: “Our goal is to show the jury and the public that we know how to diversify in musical genres.” Belgian viewers will be able to discover their performance on Plug RTL on November 26.
