what are the broadcast dates of the episodes on Max?

While waiting for the sequel to the cinema, fans of the adaptation of Dune by director Denis Villeneuve will be able to have fun on their small screens. A mini-series called Dune : Prophecy proposes to return to the past some 10,000 years before the adventures of Paul Atreides played by Timothée Chalamet. This prequel will be available for streaming on the Max platform which broadcasts HBO productions in France. On the program, a dive into the Bene Gesserit, this group of mysterious women who pull the strings of the universe of science fiction author Frank Herbert.

The actresses Emily Watson (Breaking the Waves, Chernobyl, Gosford Park) et Olivia Williams (The Ghost Writer, The Crown) are at the heart of this series. They play two sisters from the Harkonnen family – the great “bad guys” of the universe of Dune – who control the training center for the Bene Gesserit, women trained to advise and manipulate the great families of the Imperium. Travis Fimmel (Vikings) and Mark Strong (Stardust, Zero Dark Thirty, Kingsman) complete the cast which presents a beautiful array of new faces.

The series intends to concentrate quality and will therefore not offer only six episodes for this first season. HBO opted for a weekly broadcast, very clever at building suspense and thrilling fans in the long term (while banking on word of mouth). Here is the broadcast schedule announced for France:

Episode 2 will air on November 25, 2024
Episode 3 will air on December 2, 2024
L’episode 4 will be broadcast on December 9, 2024
L’episode 5 will be broadcast on December 16, 2024
L’episode 6 will be broadcast on December 23, 2024

For now, the project Dune : Prophecy is thought to be a mini-series that completes the saga Dune cinema. A season 2 is not planned at the moment. The success of the series could possibly give rise to new projects in the universe or a direct sequel.
