Elias of Imzalène “more respectable” than Bruno Retailleau? This is what Eric Coquerel, member of La insoumise (LFI) and chairman of the Finance Committee at the National Assembly, assures. On the RMC set this Friday, November 15, the Insoumis was questioned about his presence, the day before, at a demonstration in Saint-Denis against the holding of the France-Israel football match, to denounce a “genocide” in Gaza. A rally during which he appeared alongside pro-Palestinian activist Elias d’Imzalene.

The activist is particularly known to the courts for having called, during a demonstration, to “lead the intifada in ”, last September 8 in the capital. His comments led to him being placed in police custody and then being tried last month for public incitement to hatred. The court has not yet rendered its judgment.
