The French make love less, yet the number of partners an individual has during his or her life is increasing. This is the observation made by Inserm this Wednesday, November 13 at the end of a long-term study.
However, one question remains taboo: what about the sexuality of older people? Studies are lacking on this subject. However, it seems that love has no age. A report from the Petits Frères des Pauvres association published in 2022 shows thatone in two elderly people (aged 60 and over) have intimate relationships and 90% of them are satisfied with them. We are therefore far from the preconceived ideas conveyed according to which older people are retired from sex.
A series to talk about it
A French series breaks these clichés, it is aptly called “Seventh Heaven”. On November 19, season 2 of this television series will be released which does not hesitate to show what we are not used to seeing on screen. “ A wrinkled neck, a wrinkled hand on the hips, a neckline, these were things that we weren't used to seeing, but which were very sensual” Clémence Azincourt, creator of the series, told franceinfo.
While season 1 of the soap opera released in 2023 takes place in an EHPAD where love flows freely, retirees test participatory housing in season 2. This new life could awaken new, unsuspected desires among the group of friends.
“Seventh Heaven” can be found from November 19, 2024 on Ciné+ OCS.
Other series on sexual relationships
- Masters of Sex : this series released in 2013 recounts the work of Doctor William Masters in the 1950s, a pioneer in the study of sexual relations. William Masters will join forces with a young mother to carry out his study in which private lives will become involved.
- Sex Education : We no longer present this event series from Netflix which has established itself as a real educational tool on sexuality. Season 4, the last of the saga with typically British humor, returns to different themes such as transidentity, long-distance relationships or asexuality, among many others.
- Sex and the city : Iconic, but worth watching without moderation. Immerse yourself in the world of New York single Carrie Bradshaw and her friends, who lead an uninhibited life with fulfilled sexuality.
- The L Word : Generation Q : The series had gathered a large number of fans in the 2000s, mainly from the lesbian community. And for good reason, “The L Word: Generation Q” tells the story of Jenny, who has recently arrived in Los Angeles and who will question her homosexuality when she realizes her attraction to women.
