“Household scenes”: a couple “hated” by the faithful, the main actor breaks the silence

For 10 years now, Grégoire Bonnet plays the character of Philippea colorful pharmacist, in the hit series Household scenes on M6. The role, energetic and sometimes a little offbeat, quickly made him a well-known face among viewers. However, if this character makes part of the audience laugh, it wasn't always to everyone's taste.

The couple he forms on screen with Amélie Etasse has long been “hated” before being appreciated, recently confided the 58-year-old actor on the set of C to you. According to him, “when we arrive on Scènes deménages, it takes time“.

The Order of Pharmacists files a complaint

Beyond the opinions of viewers, it is also a prestigious order which criticized his character, namely the Order of Pharmacists.

In 2017, the organization even sent a letter to M6 to express its dissatisfaction with Philippe, believing that he was damaging the image of the profession.

When I arrived on M6, I was offered this role of pharmacist (…) we started to build this character, and I said I wanted to have all the flaws… who loves money, big cars, who is a bit 'nouveau riche'… I wasn't giving an image of pharmacists… who I really like… there are some in the provinces who are suffering a lot“, indicated Grégoire Bonnet on the airwaves ofEurope 1.

After the complaint from the Order of Pharmacists, Grégoire Bonnet explained that the production had to readjust the image of his character to take into account the concerns expressed.

I understand that M6 asked production to calm things down with the authors. And then I asked the authors again, saying 'has it been a long time since we've seen a good asshole?'“, he added.

M6 responds to detractors

In addition to the changes made to the scenario, the channel wanted to respond to its detractors through a missive. “The characters of Camille and Philippe are exaggerated in order to achieve their comic function. It is in this context that certain sketches of the character Philippe approach his profession as a pharmacist with humor or in a caricatured manner.“, had justified the management.
