Ex-Insoumis François Ruffin explains why he is angry with Sarah Saldman and fired her from his film after her positions on Israel – The lawyer, facing him, responds in “Quelle époque” on 2 – Watch

They are angry, but they agreed last night to meet on the same set, that of “Quelle époque” on 2. It all started when François Ruffin, a rebellious ex-MP, decided to shoot a film called Au travail. , a documentary built around lawyer and columnist Sarah Saldmann.

Known for her outspokenness and her harsh speech towards the “assisted and the glandus”, Sarah Saldmann is confronted by François Ruffin with environments that she does not know at all.

Spending a day with the “people from below”, those who earn the minimum wage or less: caregiver, waitress, farmer, parcel delivery girl or fish packer, the columnist wears one hat after another to discover the hardness of these professions. But, in the last quarter of an hour of the film, the lawyer completely disappears from the screen. A decision which surprises viewers but which according to François Ruffin can be explained by “the positions taken by Sarah Saldman during the conflict started on October 7”. Last night on the set of “Quelle époque” on France 2, he explained:

“Yes, we are angry and there is no problem in saying it. She was incapable of having the slightest word of compassion for the Palestinian people who are victims of this war. I am a humanist and I can recognize the horror of October 7 but also what is happening at the moment in Gaza.

On set, Sarah Saldman explained that not finishing the film was not her choice and she had no choice but to accept it. She also re-explained her position on what is happening in Israel today and in the Gaza Strip.
