Another spin-off for Sheldon? The actor gives his answer

To date, The Big Bang Theory is undoubtedly one of the most influential sitcoms in history. Here we are seventeen years after the broadcast of the first episode and this universe continues to grow. So the name of the program is well chosen. Before even reaching its conclusion with season 12 in 2019, Big Bang Theory received its first spin-off in 2017: the famous Young Sheldon. The series centered on the childhood of the character played by Jim Parsons met with equally dazzling success and therefore enjoyed seven seasons until 2024. The goose that lays the golden eggs no longer has any limits, and it is now it’s the spin-off’s turn to receive its own spin-off.

Starting this week, Sheldon’s brother Georgie will star in the new sitcom Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriagein which Montana Jordan and Emily Osment will both reprise their roles. And when we tell you that it never ends, it’s not a joke. Another project is also in production for the Max platform, which, according to rumors, will immerse viewers in the daily life of Stuart Bloom, the boss of the comic book store in the original series. Whether we adhere to this practice of channel spin-offs or not, some fans have high expectations for this program. The very concept of the series suggests a return of the merry troop of geeks, but the interpreter of Sheldon has already given his answer.

Interviewed on the American talk show Who’s Talking To Chris Wallace à Regarding a possible cameo, Jim Parsons was categorical: fans shouldn’t expect Sheldon’s return anytime soon. After his appearance in the finale episode of Young Sheldon, the actor is ready to move on. “Right now, no, but you should never say never, because life changes so much“, he explains on screen. “This series [Big Bang Theory, NDLR] is special for what it was and what it is today. The actor therefore prefers to withdraw in order to let his co-stars shine for themselves. It’s also understandable that after so much time, Jim Parsons would prefer to play something other than this same role. But his approach is still more sympathetic. For now, this new spin-off does not yet have a name or release date. Regarding Georgie & Mandy’s First MarriageFrance does not yet have an official broadcaster, but it is not impossible that the series will appear on Max following its broadcast on CBS in the United States.
