From Issoire to The Voice studios in , talent itineraries ready to turn the coaches’ seats around

Twenty-five singers, children and adults, from Puy-de-Dôme, Cantal and Haute- took part, in Issoire, in an audition to, perhaps, join the next castings for the TF1 radio show , The Voice.

“Hello, so what are you going to sing?” Bruno Berbérès, casting director of The Voice , looks up at the stage where a young 9-year-old performer, Romy, has taken her place.

“And bam ! by Mentissa”, replies the little girl, microphone in hand. The casting director can’t help but point out that this hardly surprises him… “Gosh! What a surprise! In any case, for two or three years, it’s either this one or Voilàby Barbara Pravi,” he whispers.

Goosebumps in the audience

Twist of fate: the soundtrack that the little girl’s mother took care to bring on a USB key will never start. The little girl doesn’t give up and suggests singing Voilàwhich one of the other participants in the casting organized in Issoire, sang before her that day. Romy de Nonette, 9 years old, finally sang “Voilà”, after being destabilized by a problem on her soundtrack of “Et bam!”

It was a good thing for her: the little girl raised goosebumps and brought tears to the eyes of several parents, who came to encourage their offspring. A plebiscite for this little Nonettoise. In her chair, in the audition room, Isa, her mother, applauds wildly, overcome by emotion. “She was incredible,” whispered her neighbors, amazed by the little singer’s confidence.

“She loves singing. But she is also passionate about horse riding and show jumping,” explains Isa. She too would have loved to experience this, at the same age as her daughter. “But I didn’t push her: she was the one who wanted to come here and try her luck.” She just admits to having given her, with Romy’s dad, a little advice for interpretation: “We advised her, for the gestures, for the intention, in her way of singing…” Romy has, it seems – he, perfectly retained their advice.

What if the four chairs of The Voice turned to a participant from Issoire in the coming seasons?

Before this step, I did a lot of selection work. I must have received 170 applications by video, explained Greg Chastang, vocal coach at Voice Avenue, before the auditions began.

This specialist in vocal technique convinced Bruno Berbérès to come and listen to local talent and organized “the only casting for The Voice and The Voice Kids, this year, in Auvergne”. A satisfaction for this crazy about music and musicals, responsible for the Voice Avenue center in Issoire.

Voice Avenue should delight fans of singing, theater and musicals

A ticket for the upcoming Parisian recordings?

“For the kids, if the casting is successful, the adventure will begin in February, with the first shoots. But for the adults, I warn you, it will go much faster!”

If I fall for your voice, I’ll meet you in . And the recordings are in three weeks… warns Bruno Berbérès.

Murmurs cross the room, between excitement and apprehension. Bruno Berbérès, casting director, explains how the audition will take place in Issoire.

Will the casting director have detected in Lili, Léa, Agathe, Doria or Romy the possibility of succeeding Kendji Girac, Amir, Slimane, Anne Sila or even Tim, the very last winner of the Kids edition, last week ?

Bruno Berbérès keeps the suspense going… “I have lots of parameters to take into account. But I hear some nice things… Even if the titles chosen are often the same, we hear different things and, some, singular. It’s interesting…” Agathe’s turn to perform “Et bam” by Mentissa. The little blonde aroused the admiration of her elders, under the spell of her crystal clear voice.
Among the “interesting things heard”, Agathe’s interpretation, when singing “And bam” by Mentissa. The youngest in this audition, 8 years old, came from Parentignat with her dad, Florand and would love to join The Voice Kids next year…

We always watch The Voice Kids, at home, with family, emphasizes the dad, delighted with his younger daughter’s performance. There’s music playing at home all the time: we’re all humming…

Verdict in several months, on TF1 to find out if certain Auvergnats will be part of the adventure…
