The Saint-Omer film in clear on Arte this Wednesday
In this feature film, you discover Rama, a young novelist, who attends the trial of Laurence Coly at the Saint-Omer assize court. The latter is accused of having killed her fifteen-month-old daughter by abandoning her to the rising tide on a beach in the north of France.
But during the trial, the words of the accused and listening to the testimonies make Rama’s certainties waver and question our judgment.
This film refers to a tragedy that occurred in Berck in 2013, an infanticide. The trial is thus inspired by that of Fabienne Kabou which was held in Saint-Omer. Everything is directed by the talented Alice Diop.
