This “all stars” season of “Beijing Express” is definitely full of surprises. This Saturday evening, for the first time in the history of the M6 adventure game, a tie occurred during an event, offering two pairs a strategic advantage for the rest of the stage.
In India, Jean-Claude and Axel, the grandfather and his grandson; Clément and Emeline, the campsite leaders, and Christophe and Claire, the father and daughter from the North, qualified for the 4th stage event. This time, no immunity at stake, but a strategic advantage for the rest of the stage.
The six candidates had to hold their arm in the air for as long as possible. This was connected to a bucket of water, and the slightest sudden movement saw the bucket tip over their heads… and cause their elimination. A “physical, intense and difficult event, but it’s worth the fight,” assured the candidates Stéphane Rotenberg, the presenter of the program.

A few minutes after the start of the event, Clément, Jean-Claude and Axel dropped their bucket. Christophe resists a little more but also ends up giving up. The ordeal then drags on between Emeline and Claire, under a blazing sun.
After more than an hour with her arm raised, the Northerner is not far from breaking down: “It’s hard dad, I’m really starting to get into trouble. I’m going to give up, Claire even assures me. I can’t do better“. It was without counting on her mind: the Lille resident perked up after a little story from her father, kept her arm in the air.
Even after having exceeded the record for this event, so far 107 minutes and held by Rose-Marie, who had beaten Claire in this same event in Turkey in season 14, Emeline and Claire do not give up, despite the pain. “It’s like knives sticking into my shoulder», Testifies Claire.
“There will be equality”
Only here: neither of them wants to give up… so much so that Stéphane Rotenberg announces: “To avoid compromising the finish of the stage, no event can exceed three hours. If you both last three hours, there will be a tie and both pairs will have the same advantage.».
The atmosphere changes between the two women: “There it changes, I say to myself “I’m no longer fighting Claire, I’m fighting with her” and the goal is that we both win this event.», assures Emeline, while the two women encourage each other.
They did it! After 3 hours of testing and a “exceptional performance», the two women both win the famous advantage. “Claire and Emeline both emerge victorious. A first in the history of Beijing Express. They therefore each obtain a valuable advantage for the rest of the race.“, proclaims Stéphane Rotenberg.
And what an advantage! While the rest of the stage continues with an “express quiz”, where the candidates must answer questions asked by the presenter on the radio, their two teams win two jokers. This means that in the event of incorrect answers to the quiz questions, they will not be forced to change vehicles, like the other pairs.
At the end of another day of racing, Christophe and Claire won their 3rd amulet and qualified for the semi-finals. The Northerners are in any case on track to become the first pair to win the program twice! Fabrice and Briac were eliminated after a final duel opposing them to Clément and Émeline.
