Flavie Flament and Julien Arnaud were not live this morning on the public service channel. Instead, reruns of previous shows were offered. Explanations.

This morning, viewers of “Telematin” were certainly surprised and disappointed. The new hosts of the France 2 morning show, Flavie Flament and Julien Arnaud, did not, in fact, appear live on the set of the show at 6:30 a.m. as usual.

Instead of the duo and their columnists, the show’s faithful were treated to loops of rebroadcasts of previous issues without further explanation. The program was, in fact, canceled – like other public service broadcasts – because of a strike notice launched by the CGT, Solidaires, FSU unions and youth organizations for Tuesday October 1. A social movement which affects all of France since 188 rallies are planned throughout France at the call of several unions to demand the repeal of the pension reform and an increase in wages.

“Télématin” is therefore not the only show that could not take place because of the strike. The news segment, presented every morning from 6 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. on France 2 by Jean-Baptiste Marteau, was also canceled. As for the continuous channel Franceinfo, it cannot offer live broadcasts but rebroadcasts reports.

Flavie Flament and Julien Arnaud did not wait long before having their first hiccup in the program. The new duo, who succeed Thomas Sotto (who left for RTL to host the morning show) and Marie Portolano (currently on maternity leave for her third child) only took the reins of the France 2 morning show on the 16th. last September.

In September 2023, their predecessors were followed by 745,000 viewers on average during the first four days of the week, or 28% of the public. But the pair at the time was not in competition with “Hello!” Bruce Toussaint’s morning show.
