After the departure of Sophie Davant at the start of the 2023 school year, it is the turn of a buyer to make his own at the start of the 2024 school year: Gérald Watelet left the television program Affaire concluded broadcast on France 2 and will no longer be part of the big band of bidders. Joined in February 2018, 6 years of presence on the show, it was as emblematic as it was appreciated. He announced his departure via the press in the columns of Ciné Télé Revue in September 2024. Information which surprised many people, including Caroline Margeridon, star buyer of the show, as she told us at the opportunity for an interview. “I’m so unhappy! He was putting on a show.” The businesswoman was in fact close to Gérald Watelet with whom she greatly appreciated the filming and the time she spent with him for the Viva for life association. “What’s horrible is that I found out about it from the press via alerts on my phone. Plus, I filmed with him before the holidays for the new show so I told him: ‘My darling, I’m so happy you’re coming back!” But he never told me he was stopping. […] Too bad, because he was a great character.”
For his part, Gérald Watelet cited several reasons to justify his departure: he claims to be very impacted by the back and forth between France and his country of origin and residence, and to be “very busy”. “I’m running out of time” he confided to our colleagues, to whom he also indicated the upcoming opening (…)
