In Detroit, they pay $250 for a Bridgerton ball that turns into chaos

The event description promised an evening of “sophistication, grace and historical charm.” Instead, attendees at the ball, which was supposed to be inspired by the TV series “Bridgerton,” found themselves in a bland venue, where some of the food “was not cooked” and the promised orchestra had been replaced by a single violinist.

This is what the local television channel WXYZ reports, which met with more than disappointed participants. “Nothing is happening [dans la salle]said a participant at the ball, which took place in Detroit, USA. They put a pole in the middle of the dance floor. A pole dance pole. A pole dancer even gave a performance.

Photos show attendees dressed in ball gowns scrolling on their phones, looking bored. The decor was minimalist and there was apparently not enough tableware.

Some attendees had purchased a $250 “Duke and Duchess” package, which was supposed to include a dance card, a professional photo, valet parking, dinner, music and entertainment. “We had to park ourselves and pay for parking,” said one attendee who purchased the package.

The event was hosted by a local company, Uncle N Me, and had no connection to Netflix or the production company Shondaland. Uncle N Me apologized and acknowledged that “organizational issues” may have affected “the enjoyment of some guests.”
