Chocolate and calling loved ones
After a brief clarification from the yellows regarding the advice of the day before, it is time for thecomfort test ! The adventurers compete on a classic of the show: a platform with eight suspended pieces of pottery. Using a club, they must break them and collect the wooden rays found there. The first team to collect all the rays wins the event.
Just before the test, the candidates draw black balls in order to distribute the teams fairly. Cassandre, faithful to her bad luck, draws her eighth black ball of the season!
Gustin delivers the red team by breaking their last pottery. The Pitogo wins 1 kg of chocolate And the traditional phone call to relatives.
Nothing is going well for the yellows
Fourth defeat in a row for the yellows, who no longer seem to find the recipe for victory. Captain Frédéric bangs his fist on the table: “We can’t always say: ‘It’s not serious, we gave the best of ourselves.’ I think we’re a little too Care Bears.” he makes the Sabitang understand. For Frédéric, it’s time for introspection. Everyone has to question themselves and find a way to surpass themselves for the immunity challenge.
“It’s too much candy floss, we have to be like starving people. In rugby, we call them junkyard dogs. We have to stop being lambs and become lions again,” says Thibault.
Follow me, I’m running away from you
Make way for theimmunity test. A game of “hunting” will decide between Pitogo and Sabitang. In each team, one person is designated “fugitive”. They must complete the obstacle course as quickly as possible. Behind them, a “pack” on their tail, composed of five adventurers from the opposing tribe, linked by a rope. Gustin is a fugitive among the reds, and Thibault among the yellows.
If the fugitives are equal, sometimes Thibault ahead, sometimes Gustin, the imbalance is especially noticeable in the packs. The Pitogo are very effective. Despite a great performance by Thibault, the red pack easily catches up with the yellow fugitive. Ugo touches Thibault thanks to “a death dive of hunger”, thereby winning the victory for the reds.
Fifth victory in a row for the Pitogo. The Sabitang’s descent into hell continues. “We need to sit down and think about what’s not working, but I don’t have the solution,” Frédéric confides to Denis Brogniart. The yellow captain explains on camera that he wants to “go individual and not worry about anyone anymore.” For Thibault, “the reds are much stronger.” The Sabitang adds: “We lose because we suck.”
Gamble?
Back at the yellow camp, the Sabitangs know it: they will have to eliminate a new member of the team. Mélissa clearly indicates her intention to go get an immunity necklace. Defeated at first, the candidate pulls herself together very quickly… and imagines a poker move against team leader Frédéric! She tries to rally Charlotte, Sophia, Ilyesse and Fabrice to her cause. She mentions the quality of the great strategist of the leader Sabitang during her previous season and does not hesitate to say that he will “turn her upside down” to the other candidates at one point or another during the adventure.
Place to the council. Mélissa and Charlotte feel in danger. Frédéric doesn’t suspect Mélissa’s plan. Once the council votes are over, it’s a cold shower for the candidate. No one followed her strategy. The poker move turns into a stab in the water. Melissa is eliminated almost unanimously. “Ah, everyone voted against me, stab in the back, ciao,” says the adventurer, in shock.
An explosive after-council
Melissa doesn’t accept her defeat and explodes. She wants to settle her scores with the Sabitang. She asks who voted against her, all the girls raise their hands. “Coming to see me about your strategy blocked me,” Sophia justifies herself. Melissa reproaches the girls for lacking honesty.
The former Sabitang reveals her strategy. “I wanted to vote against Frédéric, he’s a great strategist, I think that at the ambassadors, without hesitation, he will sacrifice a Yellow.” Frédéric points out that he didn’t vote against any boy in his alliance during his season. “Didn’t you commit to a man, didn’t you give your word?”, Mélissa then asks him. The Sabitang chief retorts that it was “the final choice” and that Mélissa herself had told him, upon arriving on the island, that she would have done the same.
In front of the camera, Mélissa is bitterly defeated: “I am so honest that I don’t understand people who aren’t. So big disappointment, I tend to be a little too emotional. Of course it affects me. Afterwards I don’t regret the game I played, I had a great adventure.”
