Lécya is taking part in season 10 of The Voice Kids and will soon be taking part in the battles. The young girl from Alpes-de-Haute-Provence tells BFM DICI about her experience and daily life.
“She’s been in music since she was in her mother’s womb.” Célia Salloum, or Lécya by her stage name, is taking part in season 10 of The Voice Kids. Originally from Mallefougasse-Augès in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, the 14-year-old girl has been immersed in music and singing since she was a child and this is not her first stage appearance.
For the Salloums, music is a real family affair. “We had a band and we did a lot of concerts at the time,” recalls Jean-Charles, Célia’s father.
The father of the family is a musician, Lécya’s mother is a singer. “I’ve always been immersed in this environment and I’ve always sung,” assures Célia to BFM DICI. At 4 years old in her parents’ living room, Lécya was already taking the microphone to “sing Louane”.
It was only a few years later, at the age of 10, that she began to take singing lessons seriously, but also to enter competitions. Later, she decided with her mother to register for the television competition The Voice Kids.
A boost in notoriety
An event that changed a lot of things for Célia, and that she considers a springboard. “I learned a lot by being on this show, both about being on a TV set and in vocal techniques,” confides the young girl.
Participating in such a competition also means more notoriety. Currently a third-year student, Célia has already noticed some changes around her.
“It’s true that at school, people come to see me to ask me if I’m the one doing The Voice Kids, and the teachers even organized a mini singing competition,” Célia tells BFM DICI.
On social networks, the craze is also felt. On Tiktok, where the young girl was already very active with singing videos, her number of subscribers increased from 30,000 to almost 40,000 between before and after The Voice Kids.
With three singles already released, several clips broadcast and concerts scheduled, the young singer does not intend to stop at The Voice Kids. “We want to put on a small show with her songs, to be able to offer singers in concert that she does their opening acts”, adds her father.
