Solo Leveling is the most famous Webtoon and its popularity has only grown with the broadcast of the first season of its animated adaptation. During the first half of 2024, viewers were able to (re)discover the adventures of E-rank hunter Sung Jin-woo on the small screen. A few months later, the saga is making headlines again. The release date of season 2 has just been made official. And that’s not all!

Solo Leveling Season 2 Coming 2025

It’s now official, although those in the know were already speculating about a release date for the sequel to the Solo Leveling anime series. Season 2 will begin with the first episode airing during January 2025. This corresponds to the winter season of anime. Indeed, Japanese animated series are planned by quarter (or semester). The first season ended at the end of March 2024 and the second could follow its example. Like the first 12 episodes, the sequel should be broadcast in on the simulcast platform (for simultaneous broadcast) Crunchyroll.

A Solo Leveling movie before season 2

The most impatient fans will have the chance to see the first images of season 2 in preview, but not on television or streaming. Indeed, the animated series follows the example of Demon Slayer and offers to see (or re-see) season 1 in the form of a compilation to which are added the first two episodes of season 2. This Solo Leveling-ReAwakening “movie” which is not really one in the first sense of the term will be screened in South Korea on November 28, 2024 and in Japan on November 29, 2024. No other possible screening date has been announced for the rest of the world yet. French fans will have to be patient until further notice.

The Solo Leveling Phenomenon

Solo Leveling is originally a web novel written by Chugong and published since 2016 on KakaoPage. Less than two years later, the adventures of Sung Jin-woo are adapted into a webtoon with Chugong still writing the script and Dubu (Redice Studio) drawing. The unprecedented success of this South Korean comic book prompted the streaming platform Crunchyroll to produce an anime adaptation directed by A-1 Pictures studios (Fairy Tail, Sword Art Online, Mashle: Magic and Muscles, etc.) which will be broadcast for the first time in January 2024. There is also a video game adaptation of Solo Leveling. Named Arise, this Action-RPG published by Netmarble was released on PC and mobile on May 5, 2024.
