Michel and Nathanaël were eliminated from “Koh Lanta: the cursed tribe” in the show broadcast on TF1 on September 17, 2024.

TELEVISION – Three departures including two eliminations in one episode. This Tuesday, September 17 on TF1 was a real massacre in the show Koh Lanta: the cursed tribe. Viewers had to say goodbye to two of this season’s favorites: Nathanaël and Michel.

The show began with great news for the four exiles. “It’s time to say goodbye to the cursed tribe”they received in a bottle, signifying their final departure from their isolated and wild island. But only two of them were able to join the real adventure.

A test of patience and balance – placing cleats on a rotating circle – separated them. Emmanuelle and Mélissa were the fastest, while Vanessa and Nathanaël had to leave the Philippines. A hard blow for viewers, who had become attached to the kind 27-year-old forklift driver.

Alexander gives up, the frustration of those eliminated

“I am very frustrated, what I feared the most has happened: to leave the adventure without having had the impression of having been part of the adventure”, Nathanaël said at the end of the game. Having come last in the very first event of the season, he had landed on the cursed island without ever tasting the real team experience. He then lost all the duels that could have allowed him to join the yellow or red team.

The blow was all the harder because when the two women joined their respective teams and the two losers announced their departure, a candidate from the yellow team, Alexandre, announced that he was abandoning the adventure. This departure was not due to injury, he was not replaced. “It’s even harder to swallow, we would have done anything to be in his place,” said bitterly the man from -Atlantique.

Fans of Koh Lanta were not at the end of their surprises. At the end of the episode, it was another favorite, Michel, who was eliminated by his team who had lost the immunity test. He had touched the hearts of Internet users with his humor and his sympathy.

“I wasn’t good”recognizes Nathanaël

As you can see from the messages posted on social media, viewers were extremely disappointed with the result. First saddened by Nathanaël’s departure, they were desperate after Michel’s.

After the episode aired, Tele-Leisure published an interview with Nathanaël, who looked back on his adventure “apart”: “Before leaving, we make up scenarios and I had never imagined the one that consists of not being part of both teams. I feel like I have made a Koh-Lanta completely different from the other adventurers. You don’t feel like you’re 100% part of the adventure.” And to add: I feel like my experience was wasted, but it was my fault because I wasn’t good when I needed to be.”

Michel, for his part, is more of a philosopher. To Puremédias, he assures that he knew he was going to be eliminated: “I suspected that the girls would vote against me.” But the Swiss, a poor swimmer and having already drawn several black balls preventing him from participating in the events, does not hold it against them. “At the time, obviously, I wasn’t super happy. But I understood the situation.”he says.
