The brand new duo from the morning show on La Deux presented their first show on Monday, September 16. A winning bet?

This Monday, September 16, the France 2 morning show got a makeover. Flavie Flament and Julien Arnaud took over the reins of “Télématin”, following the departure of Thomas Sotto and Marie Portolano from the show. According to Médiamétrie, during this time slot, the new duo gathered 730,000 viewers for its debut, or 25.9% of the audience. In comparison, the average audience score achieved by this show in 2024 is 698,000 viewers, or 23.8% of the audience, according to PureMédias.

While these figures do not break records, they still allow “Télématin” to keep the lead in audiences in this time slot, particularly against “Bonjour!” on TF1. The morning show on La Une, hosted by Bruce Toussaint since January 8, has only convinced 271,000 viewers, or 9% of the audience between 6:55 and 9:30. “Télématin” is therefore ahead of “Bonjour!” by nearly 500,000 viewers.

Launch weaker than previous ones

In recent years, the presentation of “Télématin” has changed a lot. Laurent Bignolas, Julia Vignali, Marie Portolano and of course Thomas Sotto have succeeded one another at the head of the France 2 morning show. Has the new duo formed by Flavie Flament and Julien Arnaud managed to stand out from their predecessors?

For their debut on September 19, 2023, the Thomas Sotto – Marie Portolano duo attracted an average of 762,000 viewers in their time slot, or 28.7% of the audience. For their second show, the two presenters held their course, gathering 744,000 viewers.

The Thomas Sotto – Julia Vignali duo, too, had started with better audience scores than Julien Arnaud and Flavie Flamant. On August 23, 2021,Leisure TV stressed that the debut of the presenter of “Affaire conclue” alongside Thomas Sotto had convinced 906,000 viewers on average in their time slot, or around 31.7% audience share.
