At the end of this meeting between the government and the social partners, the general secretary of the CGT considered that the page of mobilization was not yet “turned”. Prime Minister François Bayrou hopes for an agreement “at the end of May”.
The meeting between government and social partners to launch a difficult restart of the 2023 pension reform was “the opportunity to see the extent of the disagreements”said the general secretary of the CGT, Sophie Binet, on Friday.
“The trade union organizations all spoke out to denounce the 64-year-olds” and demand the repeal of the reform, continued Sophie Binet for whom, “today's meeting confirmed that the page on mobilization has not been turned and that pension reform cannot remain as it is”.
“We need to change the legal age”
The N.1 of the CFDT Marylise Léon, in turn, reaffirmed that it was necessary “a change in the legal age” of retirement at the end of the meeting on Friday between government and social partners to launch a difficult restart of the 2023 reform, which according to her made it possible to “set the frame”. “We have always been extremely clear. 64 years old is no. So there is a subject there. We need to change the legal age”declared Marylise Léon, who also highlighted the issue of arduous work and gender equality.
-“We set the framework, many elements of method and subject that can be invoked by everyone. Me, I am optimistic”added the general secretary of the first French union.
