This ring set with diamonds and sapphires worn on the left ring finger of the Princess of Wales has been making numerous appearances for several months and this would not be a coincidence.
Where did “Big Blue” go? During her visit to the Royal Marsden Hospital in London on January 14, it was noticed Kate Middleton was not wearing her engagement ring. This 12-carat opal sapphire (surrounded by 14 round diamonds) that has rarely left her left ring finger since Prince William proposed to her during a trip to Kenya in 2010. This same imposing ring as King Charles III had given to Princess Diana in 1981. Instead, in addition to her gold wedding ring and the diamond-studded ring given by Prince William at the birth of Prince George, Princess of Wales wore a gold ring set with diamonds and sapphires.
An important jewel
This is not the first time that this jewel has been seen on Kate Middleton’s hand instead of her engagement ring. The latter has also been little seen since the announcement of her cancer diagnosis in March 2024. On the contrary, this new ring is increasing the number of appearances. He was first spotted in the video the Prince and Princess of Wales recorded to congratulate the British team after their success at the Paris Olympics this summer. He then made a second major appearance in the video announcing the end of Kate’s chemotherapy treatment.
Quite a symbol
For some, Kate’s jewelry would be an “eternity ring.” As a reminder, the diamond ring given by William to celebrate George’s birth is already an eternity ring, “Annoushka Eclipse Diamond Eternity Ring”, its full name.
An eternity ring is a very symbolic piece of jewelry. The first symbol being that of eternal love. The idea is that the ring is designed exactly to the size of the wearer’s finger. Offered to mark an important milestone, the appearance of this ring while Kate – and her family with her – was going through one of the most difficult trials of her life takes on its full meaning.
