During the prime of the Star Academy, Charles had the opportunity to share a duet with Claudio Capéo. During the debrief with Marlène Schaff, the student returned with enthusiasm to this meeting. However, everything did not go off without a hitch…
The competition heats up in season 12 of the Star Academywhere only six candidates remain in the running. During the prime of this Friday, December 13, Maïa, Marguerite, Ulysse and Marine competed in performing “Die on stage” by Dalida, but it was Maïa who left the adventure, arousing the emotion of her comrades. During the traditional Sunday debrief, Ulysses was perplexed about his performance, describing himself as “not to be a vocal singer”. Marlène Schaff, on the contrary, highlighted her potential, encouraging her to perfect her technique. As for Marine, she expressed her dissatisfaction with her latest performances, claiming to be “jaded” for three weeks. She told her stage expression teacher that she felt like she wasn't delivering impressive performances. “You must not be in this defeatism. Don’t beat yourself up for nothing,” assured Marlene.
Charles delighted by his duet with Claudio Capéo
During the prime, Charles had the honor of sharing the stage with Claudio Capéo. Together, they performed the title “If I had known”, a flagship piece of the artist. During this Sunday's debrief, the young singer returned to this experience and his meeting with the artist that he will not soon forget. “I loved the moment! With Claudio, we got along really well. On a human level, he is an incredible person who puts you at ease very quickly. There was not this distance with the artist. He arrived, we had a laugh, he didn't have a problem. It was so cool”says Charles, before pointing out his faults, namely shifty glances during his performance.
Charles (Star Academy) : “We didn’t have any rehearsals”
The academician, lucid about his shortcomings during the bonuses, wants to give some explanations to his teacher about his little “dropouts” with Claudio Capéo: “You should know that the day before, we asked to lower the BPM. And the next day, we didn't have any rehearsals. In addition, they had reworked the sound and the cutting had changed. Claudio had asked for a rehearsal, but it wasn't possible. So, he told me that we would go by feeling. But, I'm still very happy with what I did. I had a great time!” For Marlène Schaff, Charles was also hesitant in attacking his choruses. “Ask the tutors what the measures of the pieces I do are, it’s super important that you know,” she advises.
