While Yellowstone lives its last hours, the derivative series 1923 is preparing its return in season 2 which has unveiled its trailer.
2024 has not been kind to Kevin Costner. His ambitious western fresco Horizon crashed at the box office this summer (pushing back the planned sequel) while in December, the series Yellowstone of which he was the headliner since 2018 made his return without him, due to scheduling problems. The second part of season 5 thus marks the end of the series, but the creation of Taylor Sheridan and John Linson has become a hydra.
One head was cut off, so two others will grow back: The Madison with Michelle Pfeiffer and Matthew Fox (who will make his comeback on TV after his iconic role in Lost) as well as a spin-off in development on Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly) and Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser) which will replace a season 6 of Yellowstone. And that’s without counting the project 6666 discussed since 2021, but which has given little news since, nor the project 1944 which would serve as a sequel to 1923another spin-off starring Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren which debuted in 2022 and is itself the sequel to a first spin-off named 1883.
Something to get lost in. Especially with the arrival of season 2 of 1923 which was recently revealed in a first trailer.
AVANT YELLOWSTONE,1923
1923as its title suggests, takes place in 1923, still in Montana, but with another generation of Duttons, including the patriarch Jacob, the great-granduncle of John Dutton, is this time played by Harrison Ford. He and his wife Cara (Helen Mirren) will still have a lot to do to protect their ranch, even more so with the arrival of a particularly harsh winter. In addition to cold and frost, the Duttons will have to take up arms against their enemies, who are increasingly determined to deprive them of their heritage.
Returning from Africa, Spencer (Brandon Sklenar), the nephew of Jacob and Cara, will embark on a perilous journey to save his family, while Alexandra will begin her own journey to find Spencer and renew a romantic relationship with him . With its desolate landscapes and its entrenched characters who must protect their territory, season 2 promises to fit even deeper into les codes du western.
Season 2 of 1923 will arrive on Paramount+ on February 23.
