Cat’s Eyes : MB14 plays Quentin Chapuis
Your story with TF1 continues…
It’s been going on for a few years now, it’s true. It’s fun and also an honor to be on such a big one. I am proud to be part of it and to occupy such an important role. He is still the first masculine man.
Were you looking Cat’s Eyes ?
I didn’t know at all. I remember when my agent told me about it, I heard that it was an English word so I thought maybe it was an American thing (he laughs). She explained to me that it was actually a manga from the 80s that had been very successful. This directly made me think of Totally Spies. I saw similarities there. I watched episodes of the cartoon and realized that there were things in the cartoon that wouldn’t be adaptable. I found it good that the series took liberties to modernize it and make it more realistic.
Tell us about your character…
He is a police officer and he is investigating art trafficking thefts when the plot begins. It turns out that at one point he starts chasing someone who is none other than his ex-girlfriend. We will say that it is a complicated situation. Quentin is a simple guy, involved in his job, very reckless and at the same time, sometimes he doesn’t realize the dangers. He is a passionate and caring person. We look a lot alike.
Cat’s Eyes : MB14 liked to climb on the roofs of buildings
How was the filming?
We had the chance to shoot in magnificent locations. I like being up high and walking on rooftops. I’m not afraid of heights at all. There are things I haven’t been able to do due to insurance and risk issues and places I haven’t been allowed to go unfortunately. I love places that overlook, where you can see all of Paris. This is my Batman side. I had a great adventure even if it was very physically intense because you had to run, do stunts, climb stairs in the rain and wind.
How did you train?
When I was a teenager, I liked climbing walls. I climbed onto the roofs of buildings. I also did a little rock climbing in high school. I took some climbing lessons before filming. I’ve also been working out a little in recent months, just to get in better shape. I tried to give myself a more or less correct silhouette, a policeman silhouette (he laughs).
How do you feel while filming on the rooftops of Paris?
It was a bit acrobatic. I felt a bit like Tom Cruise. I even found myself hanging from a rope one day.
